During a terrorist attack that took place in Sydney, Syrian refugee Ahmad al-Ahmad, who showed courage, became the focus of global attention. Thousands of people who were not indifferent to his heroism provided financial support, resulting in more than $2.5 million in donations being collected.
It is reported that on December 14, during the attack at Bondi Beach, Ahmad al-Ahmad stopped one of the armed attackers, thereby preventing a major tragedy. In the process of neutralizing the threat, he himself sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The donation campaign was organized on the initiative of well-known blogger Zachery Dereniowski and involved more than 43,000 participants. He confirmed via Facebook that the funds had been fully collected and transferred to the hero.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also highly praised Ahmad al-Ahmad’s courage, emphasizing that his actions serve as a true example for society.
