
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has invited Japanese Emperor Naruhito to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Mirziyoyev and the Emperor emphasized the spiritual closeness of the two nations, highlighting similarities in mentality, traditions, and family values. The President also expressed his gratitude to Emperor Naruhito for supporting the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.
Issues of cooperation in the fields of culture and education between Tashkent and Tokyo were also discussed. As of December this year, more than 3,000 Uzbeks have participated in internships in Japan, and over 440 individuals have studied at Japanese universities on scholarship programs.
Exhibitions dedicated to Uzbek culture and history are planned to be organized in Japan in 2026. Naruhito is the 126th Emperor of Japan, having ascended to the throne in May 2019.
His reign is marked by the motto “Reiwa” (“Beautiful Harmony”). The Emperor is recognized as a specialist in the history of waterways and ecology, particularly issues related to water and climate.
