President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his address to parliament and the public, declared the upcoming year as the Year of Neighborhood Development and Social Progress. A special state plan will be adopted to accomplish the tasks outlined for the new year.
The plan includes measures to develop more than 9,000 neighborhoods, with the aim of turning them into centers of harmony, justice, and education. "The prosperity of the nation starts with the neighborhood.
It is through the roads, drinking water, electricity supply, and transport conditions in neighborhoods, as well as the state of kindergartens, schools, and family polyclinics, that people evaluate our reforms," the head of state said. The President emphasized the priority of developing neighborhoods and their infrastructure.
A comprehensive program will be adopted to address these issues, taking inspiration from the experience of Urgut district in Samarkand region.
