Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he plans to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in the coming days. According to him, key issues related to ending the war with Russia could be decided before the New Year.
Zelenskiy stressed that sensitive issues, including possible agreements on territory, should be discussed only at the level of heads of state. For this reason, the Ukrainian side places special importance on a face-to-face meeting with the U.S. president.
The Ukrainian leader said that on Thursday he held talks with U.S. Presidentās special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trumpās son-in-law Jared Kushner. According to him, some documents aimed at ending the war and rebuilding Ukraine are nearly ready, while others are fully prepared.
Earlier, Zelenskiy presented a 20-point peace plan. The plan provides security guarantees for Ukraine, but there is no compromise on the issue of territory. The issue of control over the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant also remains under discussion.
