
For the first time in the history of independent Uzbekistan, work has begun to launch an artificial satellite and the first Uzbek cosmonaut into space. This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 26 in his address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan. The project aims to develop the countryās scientific and technological potential.
By 2030, IT service exports are planned to reach 5 billion dollars. Next year, 4 data centers, 2 supercomputers, and AI laboratories in 15 universities will be launched in Tashkent city, Bukhara, Fergana, and Tashkent region. These projects will serve to implement artificial intelligence in medicine, transport, agriculture, geology, banking and finance, and public safety sectors.
Today, thousands of talented young people are conducting research in IT and artificial intelligence. To implement their drone and robotics projects in practice, the āDigital Technologies Centerā will be established. This center will help train young specialists and talented scientists.
Additionally, the āSamarkand-2028ā satellite will be launched in cooperation with the Chinese company STAR.VISION. The parties agreed to implement joint projects, strengthen scientific and technological integration, and cooperate with universities and companies.
