The US vice president expressed concern that the situation in Ukraine will turn into a nuclear war
The ongoing military operations in Ukraine could, over time, escalate into a nuclear conflict. This was stated by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview with prominent American podcaster Charlie Kirk.

According to Vance, if the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues for several more years, Ukrainians will have no chance of winning. He also rejected the idea that "if the war drags on, Russia will lose."

"If this war does not end, Ukrainians will not be able to achieve victory. That is the real situation," said Vance.

The U.S. Vice President emphasized that both countries will face serious demographic crises as a result of the ongoing military operations. He stated that the conflict could deepen further, leading to the deaths of millions of people, and the most dangerous scenario — the war could "turn into a nuclear war."

Answering a question about how much success had been achieved in the peace negotiations during the first 100 days of Donald Trump's presidency, Vance replied:

"Did the Russians and Ukrainians stop the war? No. But I must emphasize that in three months, we achieved more progress than in the previous three years," he said.

According to him, representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and various European countries — even while sometimes expressing dissatisfaction — admit that Trump's diplomacy has helped to change the situation more than ever before.

"This is a major achievement. Sometimes you will be disappointed with the Ukrainians, sometimes with the Russians. That’s the nature of the negotiation process. But President Trump will not allow the process to roll back," emphasized Vance.

He added that he himself feels more optimistic about the negotiations today than he did two weeks ago.

Moreover, the U.S. Vice President mentioned that on April 23, during a visit to India, the American side had made a concrete peace proposal to both Russia and Ukraine.

"If Moscow and Kyiv do not agree with Washington’s clear plan for the post-war period, the United States may withdraw from the negotiation process. We made a very clear proposal to both Russia and Ukraine. It is time to hear a 'yes' or 'no' answer from them," said J.D. Vance.

At present, this serious statement by the U.S. administration regarding the situation in Ukraine is causing extensive discussion in the international community.
