Iranian official Abbas Araghchi answered a question about US citizens held in Tehran during an interview with one of the American television channels.
During the conversation, the host reminded that four US citizens are currently being held in Evin Prison and asked whether their safety is guaranteed.
Responding to the question, Abbas Araghchi emphasized that their security depends on certain factors. According to him, if no external attacks occur, the prisoners will not face danger.
“If the United States and Israel do not bomb our prisons, they will be safe,” Araghchi said.
It is known that Evin Prison is located in Iran’s capital Tehran and is considered one of the most well-known and strictly controlled prisons in the country. Both local and foreign citizens accused of various crimes are held there.
The Iranian official’s statement is said to have provided additional clarity regarding the situation.
