Entry to Ecozones: Fines for "Red" and "Yellow" Stickers Postponed

Access to eco-zones: fines for 'red' and 'yellow' stickers delayed...

The Committee for Ecology and Climate Change has stated that reports claiming that vehicles with 'red' and 'yellow' stickers will immediately be fined for entering eco-zones starting from 2026 are inaccurate. According to the Committee, such requirements will be implemented gradually, with fines only coming into effect from 2028.

It was emphasized that this transitional period allows drivers to improve their vehicles technically, reduce emissions, and adapt to environmental standards. After undergoing technical diagnostics and making necessary adjustments, vehicle owners will be able to obtain a 'green' sticker.

Additionally, within the updated system, drivers will be notified in advance about entering eco-zones. A mechanism for issuing alerts through video surveillance cameras and electronic information platforms will be introduced. The aim is not to penalize drivers unexpectedly but rather to prepare and inform them.

According to representatives of the Committee, the primary goal is not to collect fines but to widely promote the "Eco-Friendly Transport" concept among the population, improve air quality in cities, and protect the environment. Therefore, in the coming years, special attention will be given to creating favorable conditions for citizens and enhancing ecological awareness.
