Why is taxiing getting more expensive every day?

The cost of taxi services in Uzbekistan is steadily increasing. According to the National Statistics Committee, taxi fares increased by an average of 0.5% in November 2025 compared to October.

This may seem like a small number, but in the annual context, the picture is much more serious. Since the beginning of the year, the cost of taxi services has increased by 7%. Compared to the same period last year, the price increase was 12.2%.

Experts attribute this growth to fuel prices, maintenance costs, and overall inflationary pressure in the market. At the same time, the high demand in large cities is also one of the factors affecting prices.
