Namangan governor replaced

Ayubkhon Kamalov has been appointed as the governor of Namangan region. This decision was made by the city council of deputies, reports the regional administration. In 2019-2020, Kamalov worked as the deputy governor of Namangan region; after that, he served as the deputy chairman of the Central Bank. The former governor, Anvar Otakhodjaev, was dismissed from his position on charges of bribery. He is suspected of taking a bribe in the amount of $60,000. It became known at the beginning of September that Otakhodjaev had been detained. A criminal case has been initiated against him.
