Criminal gang exposed for tricking girls into being sent to Turkey
Law enforcement agencies exposed a criminal group that, since 2020, had been luring women from Samarkand to Turkey by deception and forcing them into prostitution. Podrobno.uz reports. The group members promised victims high-paying jobs, then upon arrival in Istanbul confiscated their passports and coerced them into prostitution. The organizer of the network turned out to be a 39-year-old woman born in Samarkand region and living in Istanbul. She coordinated the process and made arrangements with hotels, while her 37-year-old accomplice in Samarkand searched for women facing financial hardship. For sending each victim abroad, the intermediary received $400. оператив officers detained the suspects during an attempt to take two more victims out of the country. The victims were rescued at the capital’s airport before departure. A criminal case has been opened against the group members under Article 135, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking). Law enforcement is currently continuing the investigation to determine the full scope of the group’s activities and identify all individuals victimized over the years.
