Recruiters offered them decent jobs, but upon arrival in Turkey they were coerced into prostitution. The leader of the criminal group, a 39-year-old woman, managed the operation from Turkey. In Samarkand region, she was assisted by an accomplice who found women facing financial hardship. He received $400 for each woman. The suspects were detained at Tashkent airport while attempting to take two women abroad. A criminal case on human trafficking has been opened against the group members.
