Uzbek citizens rescued from labor slavery in Ukraine have been repatriated
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine managed to repatriate 19 compatriots who had been left in difficult conditions, according to the “Dunyo” news agency. Uzbek citizens had been forced to work in one of the greenhouses in the Kyiv region.

Their return was assisted by the International Organization for Migration in Kyiv and Moldova. According to the agency, on October 28, our compatriots were brought from Kyiv to Chisinau by motor vehicles.

There, they were provided with safe living conditions, food, and necessary assistance. On Monday, November 3, they were successfully repatriated.

All 19 Uzbeks were recognized as “victims,” which ensured that no sanctions under Ukrainian law would be applied to them.
