Commission Formed in Tashkent to Address Air Quality Issues

A commission has been established in Tashkent to address air quality issues
Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on urgent measures to improve the ecological situation in the capital. A special commission has been established to address this issue.

Previously, the Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, proposed strengthening environmental control measures. In this context, a meeting held on November 24 discussed the factors affecting the air quality situation in the capital.

During the meeting, Mirziyoyeva put forward both short-term and long-term initiatives to prevent such situations from recurring. According to data from the IQAir portal, as of 9:17 AM, air quality in Tashkent was rated as harmful due to PM2.5 particles.

Tashkent was ranked seventh in the world among cities with the most polluted air. The top position in the ranking belongs to the Indian cities of Delhi and Kolkata, while Lahore, Pakistan, holds the third position.
