CNG Filling Stations in Uzbekistan to Temporarily Shut Down

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy has announced the temporary suspension of methane gas filling stations to ensure the supply of gas to households and social infrastructure facilities. The ministry stated that further detailed information will be provided later.
“We inform you that these necessary measures are temporary, and practical work is being carried out to normalize gas pressure,” the ministry’s statement said. It added that the suspension of the filling stations' activities will be implemented in coordination with local government authorities.
The Ministry of Energy highlighted that this decision was made due to a decrease in gas imports caused by technical malfunctions in the gas network of a neighboring country. It should be noted that in the first ten months of 2025, Uzbekistan purchased $1.1 billion worth of gas from abroad, which is 16% less compared to the same period last year.
At the end of November, Kazakh media reported that the company "Intergas Central Asia" filed a lawsuit against "Uztransgaz." According to the Kazakh side, the Uzbek company owes $2 million for gas transit services.
