Control over shashlik venues has been strengthened in Tashkent

Starting today, February 19, oversight has been strengthened in the city of Tashkent over the activities of public catering facilities that prepare food in tandoors, ovens, and on grills. This was reported by the press service of the capital’s khokimiyat.
It is reported that raid inspections are being conducted in samsa shops, kebab places, and other food outlets based on sanitary and environmental requirements. During the inspections, it is emphasized that facilities are being identified that operate without smoke exhaust and filtration systems, have not established proper waste-cleaning procedures, and have placed tandoors and grills very close to pedestrian walkways or residential buildings.
It was said that shortcomings at facilities that do not meet the requirements will be eliminated, and their operations will be temporarily suspended until they are brought into compliance with legal regulations.
According to the khokimiyat, the absence of modern smoke exhaust and filtration systems may harm public health, negatively affect the city’s ecology, and become a cause of citizens’ complaints.
