In Samarkand, husband and wife hid opium in their bodies

On February 14, in the Samarkand region, two individuals arriving from a neighboring country were detained while attempting to illegally bring a large amount of opium. This was reported by the Regional Customs Department.
It is reported that at the “Jartepa” border customs post, the female passenger underwent a check using a special “Body Scanner.” During the inspection, three packages were found in her internal organs. During a medical procedure with doctors, a total of 255 grams of opium were extracted from these packages.
Additionally, the woman’s husband was also taken under urgent control and transferred to a medical facility in Samarkand. During a medical examination, four packages were discovered in his internal organs, containing a total of 541 grams of opium.
As a result, the total attempt to illegally smuggle 796 grams of opium was prevented. Investigation into the case is ongoing.
