Uzbekistan leads in the supply of grapes and raisins to the Russian market

According to the results of 2025, Uzbekistan became the largest supplier of high-quality grapes and sweet raisins to the Russian Federation. According to data provided by Rosselkhoznadzor, a total of 198,000 tons of these products were shipped from Uzbekistan to the neighboring country, representing an 11.4% increase compared to the previous year.

Triumphant march of natural resources

Uzbekistan has made a real leap not only in the export of grapes, but also in the export of melons. Exports of melons, watermelons, and papayas to Russia have doubled, reaching 111,000 tons. In this regard, our country has significantly surpassed its competitors, such as Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Also, Uzbekistan's share in the dried fruit market remains significant. Last year, Russian consumers purchased 10.5 thousand tons of high-quality dried fruits from Uzbekistan, which indicates a 28% increase in exports.

Overview of Russian imports

Over the past year, Russia imported a total of 6.1 million tons of fruit and nut products. The main directions in the market were distributed as follows:

  • Citrus fruits: 1.8 million tons (main supplier - Turkey).
  • Banana: 1.4 million tons (stable indicator maintained).
  • Berries: more than 528 thousand tons (Azerbaijan and China are leading).
  • Nuts: 90 thousand tons (main partners - Vietnam, Iran, and the Philippines).

Competition and Opportunities

It is noteworthy that despite a threefold increase in imports of grapes and raisins from China, Uzbekistan still maintained its leading position. This once again proves that not only the quantity, but also the quality and taste of our domestic products are highly valued in the international market.

The fruits of the Uzbek farmer's labor are now on the tables of millions of foreign families. Undoubtedly, such growth in export potential will open new opportunities for the country's economy.

In your opinion, what should be paid attention to in order to further increase the competitiveness of Uzbek fruits in the world market?
