On February 21, an increased risk of mudflows was announced in the foothill areas

Due to the expected rains on February 21 of this year, there is a possibility of mudflows in some foothill and mountainous regions of the republic. Experts warn that in such weather conditions, water flows can intensify rapidly, and small streams and ravines can reach dangerous levels in a short time.
In particular, the risk may be higher in the following regions:
- Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, Guzar.
- Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherabad, Sho'rchi, Qumqo'rg'on, Muzrabot.
- Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulung'ur, Nurobod, Qo'shrabot, Kattaqo'rg'on, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtixon.
- Navoi region: Khatyrchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh, Karmana.
- Jizzakh region: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallyaaral, Sharaf Rashidov, Farish, Yangiabad.
- Tashkent region: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk.
- Namangan region: Pap, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan.
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shakhimardan, Fergana, Beshariq.
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.
Specialists urge residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling in these directions to take precautions in advance. Because during and after rain, the threat of mudflows arises "in an instant": where yesterday it seemed calm, today it can turn into a dangerous current.
There is also a possibility of rainwater accumulation in some areas of the republic. This can lead to flooding in some uneven terrain. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid rushing, approaching dangerous ravines and streams, and stopping on roads where mudflows may occur.
