The government introduces interest-free financial aid for the poor
In Uzbekistan, low-income families will be provided with interest-free loans to start their own businesses. This was established in the presidential decree signed on February 14, titled “On additional measures to improve the system of financial assistance for engaging the population in entrepreneurship and ensuring employment.”

According to the decree, a system of interest-free loans will be introduced for members of families included in the Unified Social Protection Registry and the Low-Income Families Registry, replacing subsidies for purchasing necessary equipment for business activities. Additionally, ineffective and unused subsidies will be eliminated, and overlapping subsidy programs will be merged.

Based on the specialization of local communities and key economic drivers, low-income families will receive grants and interest-free loans to engage in entrepreneurship and farming.

Starting from January 1, 2026, financial aid to the population will gradually be transferred to social cards instead of being given in cash.

By March 20, 2025, the Ministry of Economy and Finance will establish a Department for Evaluating and Coordinating the Efficiency of Subsidies, Loans, and Grants.
