In the city of Samokov, Bulgaria, the World Championship in sports wrestling among athletes under 20 years old continues with prestige and an interesting program. This competition became an ideal arena to test the potential of young and talented athletes from various countries around the world.
Yesterday evening, the Uzbekistan national team not only participated but also deservedly won a gold medal. This caused great joy and excitement among fans and experts.
Our proud freestyle wrestler, Sherzod Poyonov (-92 kg), demonstrated true world-class performance in the qualifying rounds. He defeated opponents from Greece, Japan, Canada, and Russian athletes competing under a neutral status, showing great skill and strategy. Sherzod's wrestling style and stability became a real challenge for his opponents.
Most importantly, in the decisive final, Sherzod Poyonov defeated Kazakhstani athlete Kamil Kurugliev using perfect strategy and excellent technique, winning the world championship for Uzbekistan.
