Car accident in Herat kills 71 people

A tragic incident in Herat province has deeply shocked all of Afghanistan. On Tuesday evening, a road traffic accident occurred in western Herat, resulting in the deaths of 71 people, including 17 children. Provincial administration representative Ahmadulla Muttaki provided details of the incident.

The accident involved a bus transporting deported migrants to Kabul. The bus collided with a truck and a motorcycle, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Witnesses and local residents reported horrifying scenes at the site.

According to Al Jazeera, the bus carried refugees recently deported from Iran. Most of them were expecting to be delivered to a safe area, but the accident posed a serious threat to their lives and brought deep grief to many families.

Local authorities and emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, evacuated the injured to hospitals, and took all measures to extinguish the fire. At the same time, an investigation into the causes of the accident has begun.
