As a result of urgent operations carried out jointly by the State Security Service and regional internal affairs departments, narcotic substances illegally brought from Russia, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan were seized.

In Uzun district, during the operation, two local citizens born in 2005 and 2006 were caught while bringing 20 kg 374 g of opium and 41 kg 668 g of hashish from Tajikistan by smuggling. Following this, the operation continued, and their criminal accomplices, including a person living in Denov district who had ordered the crime, were detained.

Additionally, during the inspection of cargo entering Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan, belonging to a resident of Toshloq district, Fergana region, 7 kg 902 g of synthetic narcotic “Mephedrone” hidden inside a marble block was discovered. During pre-trial investigation, it was determined that the drug courier was supposed to deliver the substance from Moscow to the Uzbek client via a Telegram bot.

Furthermore, individuals engaged in drug sales in Bekabad and O‘rta Chirchiq districts were identified and detained. In Kokand, a woman born in 1964 and her son born in 1993 were arrested, and 5 kg 878 g of opium and 3 kg 922 g of hashish smuggled from Afghanistan were seized as evidence.

In total, 79 kg 744 g of narcotics brought from abroad were stopped from illegal circulation. Criminal cases under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code were initiated against all detainees, preventive detention applied, and investigative actions are ongoing.

This operation once again demonstrated the seriousness and systematic approach of the fight against drug trafficking and smuggling in the country. Experts emphasize that such urgent operations are crucial for maintaining public safety.
