The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) announced that from the 2025/2026 academic year, contract prices for students will be significantly increased. According to the university’s press service, this decision was mainly made to ensure financial stability and to form the necessary material opportunities in the educational process.
It is noted that UWED does not have evening, part-time, or distance learning programs. Therefore, the university’s financial sources mainly depend on contract funds received from full-time education. This, as reported, was one of the main reasons for the decision to increase contract costs.
According to the newly established prices, for 1st–2nd year students the contract fee will be 33.75 million soums (without scholarship) or 40.59 million soums (with scholarship). For 3rd–4th year students this amount has been increased from 27.3 million to 34.14 million soums. Prices for foreign students have also changed: their contract payments will range from 38.4 million to 44.8 million soums.
At the master’s level, local students will pay 34.56 million soums (without scholarship) or 41.4 million soums (with scholarship). For foreign master’s students, the contract has been set at 44.8 million to 51.2 million soums.
According to university representatives, these changes are seen as an important step in ensuring the quality of the educational process and maintaining financial stability. They emphasized that the increase in payments also aims to create a comfortable and high-quality educational environment for students.
It should be reminded that starting from August 1, the salaries of employees of budget organizations and the amount of student scholarships were also increased by 10 percent. In this regard, these changes in the education sector are taking place against the background of general economic transformations.
