To increase public safety in urban and rural areas, infrastructure requirements have been established for creating “Model Safe Streets” and “Model Safe Houses.” These requirements include:
-
Full illumination of street areas where residents live and move during nighttime;
-
Partial illumination of dead-end streets, inner pathways, and dark areas where crimes might occur;
-
Technical monitoring requirements for parking lots for vehicles;
-
Regulation of illegal (informal) street vendors;
-
Absence of unattended basements, attics, and trash areas.
In challenging neighborhoods, tasks for establishing these projects are incorporated with specific instructions into quarterly and monthly “roadmaps” developed at the mahalla, district, and regional levels.
Additionally, the “Mahalla Yettiligi” organization installs stickers indicating the social status at the starting and ending points of “Model Safe Streets” and “Model Safe Houses.” These stickers serve to increase safety, reinforce order, and visually demonstrate positive changes in society.
