In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, starting today, fares for public transportation operate under new rates. This was announced in the official decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Karakalpakstan. The decision was published on August 20, 2025, and it fully explains the new tariff system for passengers.
In city-route buses, the fare for a single trip paid in cash (including VAT) is set at 2600 soms. At the same time, when paying electronically, that is, without cash (transport card, automated transport payment system operator – ATTO, and bank cards with remote payment capability), the fare for one passenger is 2000 soms.
Discounts and benefits are also applied depending on the number of trips passengers make on city routes of public transportation. These discounts are implemented according to Appendix 1 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Karakalpakstan decision, and for ATTO card users – according to Appendix 2, which significantly eases expenses for regular passengers.
Additionally, for intercity taxis starting from the city, suburbs, or district center, the fare for a single trip up to 5 km (including VAT) is set at 3000 soms. These prices are convenient for passengers and ensure transparency in the payment system.
Tariffs are also separately established for ordinary passengers, students, and people with disabilities. For example, regular bus rides for ordinary passengers amount to 200,000 soms per month and 1,642,000 soms per year. For pensioners, people with disabilities, students, and schoolchildren, these amounts are 100,000 and 912,000 soms, respectively.
The new tariffs create convenience and opportunities for passengers, while also increasing the efficiency and transparency of the transport system. The decision also aims to encourage regular public transport users and provides an opportunity to save on travel costs through various benefits.
