By the beginning of November 2025, maternal mortality cases in Uzbekistan had decreased by 25 percent. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health Elmira Basitkhonova.
This indicator was recorded as part of the "Healthy Start to Life — the Key to a Prosperous Future" program implemented by the World Health Organization. It is reported that by the end of the year, this figure may reach 30 percent.
Basitkhonova noted that the results were achieved by early detection of diseases among mothers and promoting a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy.
