US President Donald Trump has publicly announced plans to invite Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to the G20 summit in Miami, Florida, in 2026. He announced this in a statement on the social network Truth Social.
According to Trump, he recently held telephone conversations with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the conversation, issues of regional and global problems, the diplomatic settlement of existing conflicts, the expansion of trade and economic ties, and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed in detail.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, during the negotiations, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of previously reached agreements, strengthening the strategic partnership, and promoting new joint initiatives. In particular, the issue of bringing economic cooperation to a new level is noted as a priority.
It was noted that concrete steps have been taken to create an American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council for these purposes. Through this platform, it is planned to implement large investment projects, intensify ties between the private sector, and increase the number of joint ventures.
In addition, it was announced that work is underway to create a joint Investment Fund between the two countries. It is expected that this fund will serve to attract investment in strategic sectors, accelerate the exchange of technologies, and ensure long-term economic stability.
According to experts, the invitation of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to the G20 summit testifies to the growing role and authority of the Central Asian states in the international arena. This can further strengthen the region's participation in global economic and political processes. In short, it is quite possible that the 2026 Miami Summit will open new opportunities for Uzbekistan.
