Starting from 2026, another significant benefit will be introduced for entrepreneurs and manufacturers in Uzbekistan. According to a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the requirement to conduct separate document verification at the Technical Regulation Inspection during the process of obtaining a conformity certificate will be abolished. This initiative aims to reduce excessive bureaucratic barriers, saving time and costs for businesses.
Under the new system, the certification process is expected to become much more transparent and efficient. Experts highlight that this change will create a favorable environment for companies operating in the production sector. In particular, manufacturers focused on export markets are likely to quickly feel the positive impact of these simplifications.
The decree also outlines important regulations concerning foreign trade. Starting May 1, 2026, all bans, restrictions, and fees introduced in foreign trade will only be enforced after their formal announcement through the "Single Window" information system. This measure ensures that decisions are made openly and transparently.
Additionally, any non-tariff restrictions or additional fees must be publicly announced at least three months in advance. Failure to comply with this requirement will render such restrictions and fees legally invalid. This provision reduces the risk of unexpected decisions for businesses and investors.
The decree sets another significant date. Starting January 1, 2028, penalties will be imposed for violations of customs legislation. These measures are intended to ensure strict adherence to laws by participants in foreign trade.
Overall, the new reforms aim to establish clear rules in the fields of foreign trade and certification, further improving conditions for doing business in Uzbekistan. Experts emphasize that these changes are expected to boost economic activity in the coming years.
