In Uzbekistan, until January 1, 2028, a zero customs duty rate will apply to the import of technological equipment intended for establishing and developing EV charging stations, their spare parts, and service infrastructure. This was reported by podrobno.uzreports.
A similar benefit also applies to spare parts for silk processing and textile equipment, mulberry seeds and seedlings, as well as super-elite, elite, and industrial silkworm eggs.
The presidential decree also sets out separate longer-term measures: until January 1, 2031, special machinery, technological equipment, spare parts, components, raw materials, and supplies not produced domestically and used by enterprises that dispose of household, construction, and medical waste, as well as entities processing biodegradable polymer materials, will be exempt from customs duties.
In addition, a preferential tax regime will be introduced for participants in the waste management sector. From January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2031, the corporate income tax (including income in the form of dividends) and the social tax will be set at 1% for the state institution “Directorate for the Management of Waste Landfills” and for taxpayers that simultaneously meet the established criteria.
Tax incentives apply when a number of requirements are met. In particular, based on the results of the reporting tax period, revenue from the collection, removal, sorting, and recycling of waste must account for at least 90% of total turnover. In addition, the monthly wage per employee must be calculated at no less than twice the minimum wage.
