Uzbekkosmos selects the first Uzbek cosmonaut in the nationwide competition

Interest in space in Uzbekistan is rising by another step: the Space Research and Technology Agency - "Uzbekkosmos" plans to identify the first Uzbek cosmonaut through an open competition. This was announced by the agency's deputy director, Muhiddin Ibrohimov, in an interview with the "O'zbekiston 24" television channel.

He emphasized that the requirements for those aspiring to become astronauts will be strict. It's not just about desire - criteria such as health status, physiological indicators, scientific training, and foreign language proficiency play a key role. "We want to hold a nationwide competition," says Ibragimov. That is, whether a candidate is a student today or a working specialist - it doesn't matter, the most important thing is that that person must be adequately prepared for space travel.

At the same time, the interview did not specify the specific conditions and deadlines for the competition. But this also makes the situation even more interesting: therefore, the answer to the question "who will I become?" is still open, and the possibilities are vast.

Ibragimov also noted that work is underway in another important area - artificial satellites. According to him, a presentation is being prepared for the president based on various models. During the presentation, it is planned to explain the structure of the satellite for remote sensing of the Earth, the part of the payload, the main module, the principle of operation of solar panels, and its appearance in orbit.

Another inspiring aspect: currently, 7 Uzbek students studying at the Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan are working on creating the first national scientific satellite. This is a signal that completely breaks the notion that "space is far from us."

Recall that on February 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of the preliminary work on the training of the first Uzbek cosmonaut. A proposal for preparation for short-term flights of 10-14 days was also put forward, and the possibilities of international cooperation for the implementation of such flights were also discussed.

In short, Uzbekistan is taking serious steps towards space. Now the most interesting thing is - who will be the first to reach the stars? It's exciting to wait for the answer to this question.
