Following the incident involving a pregnant schoolgirl in Kazakhstan, the issue of mandatory gynecological consultations for high school girls is being discussed. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Health, Timur Sultangaziyev, in the corridors of the meeting, a Zakon.kz correspondent reports.
According to him, the ministry is currently studying the possibilities of implementing this initiative. According to Sultangaziyev, the absence of a pregnancy at the school is due to the fact that the girl had no complaints and no special examination was conducted.
"A special preventive examination was not conducted. Only during the screening in early March were ophthalmologists and otolaryngologists examined, but obstetrician-gynecologists did not participate. Therefore, the pregnancy was not detected because it was at an early stage," she said.
According to the Deputy Minister, the idea of introducing a gynecologist's consultation is not directly related to the incident in Aktobe, but in the future, such examinations may play an important role in protecting the health of high school girls.
