Girl Overcame 15 Years of Insomnia Thanks to “Ratatouille”

A girl named Hannah Kendrick, who suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), has been watching the same animated film — “Ratatouille” — every night for the past 15 years to fall asleep, reports The Guardian.

According to Hannah, she has struggled with sleep problems since childhood. Back then, she shared a room with her sister, and they would fall asleep with the TV on.

“In my teenage years, it became a habit. I would pick a movie and watch it over and over for weeks — until a new one appeared,” she says.

Hannah explains that “Ratatouille” became her soothing movie mainly because of its soundtrack:

“There are no sudden explosions or scary scenes — just the quiet hum of the kitchen and the occasional clatter of pots and pans.”

Now, for 15 years, Hannah has been turning on the Pixar movie every single night. This habit helps her fall asleep within five minutes.

“Sometimes I even get annoyed — because I fall asleep too fast and don’t manage to finish it. Even after watching it every day for 15 years, there are still parts I probably haven’t seen,” she says with a laugh.
