Fabio Cannavaro made major changes to the national team lineup as soon as he started working, UPL.UZ reported. For the match against Uruguay, the coach decided to remove 8 players from the squad.
It is said that these decisions are related to tactical reasons and the physical condition of some players.
According to Association Football Uzbekistan, defender Farrukh Sayfiev from "Neftchi," Odiljon Hamrobekov from "Traktor," and Abbosbek Fayzullaev from "Başakşehir" were dismissed due to injury.
The remaining 5 — Abdumadjidov, Rahmonaliev, Abdurazzakov, Khodzhimirzaev, and Turdimurodov — were excluded for tactical decisions.
With new call-ups, Cannavaro has added strikers such as Ruslan Jiyanov (Navbahor) and Husayn Norchaev (Nasaf) to the team.
Cannavaro:
“We want to test many players in different situations. This is a friendship match and will reveal the potential of new players.”
Currently, the national team is in Malaysia and the match against Uruguay will take place on October 13 at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, at 17:45 (Tashkent time).
The teams of Uzbekistan and Uruguay have faced each other 3 times in history, and each time the South American team won.
