The episode titled “The daughter-in-law who made dumplings from her mother-in-law’s meat” of Uzbekistan’s “Oʻtkir tergov” program does not correspond to reality. This was announced by Aziz Abidov, Press Secretary of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.
According to him, such incidents have not occurred in the country and no court has considered such a case. Abidov additionally stated that although the creators of the program included a caption saying “Based on real events”, this time they fabricated the story themselves with the intent to prevent crime.
Furthermore, Abidov called on social media users to refrain from misinterpreting such stories. The episode, aired on October 29, has sparked widespread discussion on social networks.
