Israeli strikes in Gaza: four killed

Israeli forces carried out two separate strikes in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing at least four Palestinians. The military said the strikes targeted the site of a failed rocket launch.

According to the Health Ministry, an airstrike in the Khan Yunis area killed at least three people and wounded three others, including children. Another person was killed in the eastern part of the city near Israeli operations.

Under the peace agreement signed in October 2020, major fighting stopped, Israel withdrew from part of Gaza, and Hamas fighters released detained Palestinians. Since the agreement, over 400 Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers have been killed.

Currently, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas remains fragile. Israel has not opened the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt and will not proceed to the next phase until the final remains are returned. Most residents are living in damaged or temporary housing.
