Pakistan is discussing the possibility of supplying JF-17 fighter jets to the Bangladesh Air Force, Reuters reports. The JF-17 is a joint project developed through cooperation between China’s and Pakistan’s defense industries. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .

Islamabad also said it would speed up deliveries of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft to Dhaka and help establish a full pilot training system.

Bangladesh is not the only potential destination for Pakistani fighters. The JF-17 is already in service with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and Libya has expressed interest in purchasing it.

According to Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, advances in the defense industry could change the country’s economic outlook. He said Pakistani aircraft have successfully passed trials, and there are so many orders that within the next six months the country may no longer need assistance from the International Monetary Fund.

The JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight multirole fighter designed to gain air superiority, strike ground targets, and carry out reconnaissance missions. The aircraft is also currently in service with the armed forces of Myanmar and Nigeria. At various times, military circles in Argentina, Congo, and Malaysia have also shown interest in it.
