Uzbekistani drivers now have the opportunity to avoid fines for minor traffic violations. The corresponding law in this regard has been approved by the Senate.
An administrative warning penalty has been introduced by the Senate. As a result of improvements in the road safety system, in the first eight months of this year, the total number of road traffic accidents decreased by 2.4%, the number of fatalities decreased by 5.6%, and incidents involving pedestrians decreased by 1.6%.
The law sets a deadline for taking administrative measures based on photo and video recordings — action must be taken no later than one month from the day the violation was committed. These changes are aimed at preventing administrative offenses, increasing citizens' trust in government agencies, and creating additional conveniences for vehicle drivers.
