49 drivers to lose licenses due to penalty points

The number of drivers in Uzbekistan who repeatedly violate traffic rules and accumulate maximum penalty points is increasing. According to data, as of May 8, 49 drivers have reached the 12-point threshold.
The highest number of violations was recorded in Tashkent. In the capital, 29 drivers have accumulated critical points. Next are the Fergana region with 8 cases and the Bukhara region with 3 cases. These regions are currently leading in this specific anti-rating.
In accordance with Article 34-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, drivers who accumulate 12 penalty points will be deprived of their driving privileges for at least 6 months. It is reported that materials regarding these cases have already been sent to court.
Restoring driving privileges will no longer be as easy as before. Drivers wishing to regain their licenses must undergo retraining and pass a more complex exam. Now, it is required to answer at least 46 out of 50 questions correctly. Previously, this requirement was 18 out of 20 questions.
These changes are aimed at strengthening road safety, disciplining drivers who disregard the rules, and reducing repeat traffic violations.
At the same time, it is noted that the situation is relatively better in some regions. There are currently no drivers who have accumulated critical points in the Navoi, Kashkadarya, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya regions.
Experts urge drivers to take traffic rules more seriously. Because penalty points are not just simple numbers — they can ultimately lead to the loss of driving privileges.
In short, the mindset of 'it doesn't matter if I do it once' on the road is now quite dangerous. Violations accumulate, points add up, and then a 6-month break from the steering wheel begins. The best strategy on the road is not to drive fast, but to drive correctly.
