Fake Labubu dolls pose danger to children
Fraudsters have become active around Labubu dolls, which have gained popularity on TikTok. Thousands of fake dolls have been seized in an industrial area near London. They are made from poor-quality and hazardous materials, posing a choking risk to children.

Pop Mart, the owner of the Labubu brand, doubled its revenue last year, earning $1.8 billion. This popularity has also attracted fraudsters — they buy original products in bulk to resell at higher prices or distribute poor-quality counterfeits.

According to officials, most fake dolls come from China, Hong Kong, and Turkey. Some are made from toxic plastics and glue, with parts that quickly detach. In some cases, these parts have ended up in children’s mouths, posing a danger.

Experts advise consumers to be cautious and suspicious of products sold at very low prices. Fakes are usually poorly packaged and have spelling mistakes on the labels.

Law enforcement agencies are currently keeping the seized dolls as evidence and are preparing to destroy them.
