According to the decision of the Government adopted on February 24 of this year, the city's territory will begin rapid development in the next 18 years. By 2030, the territory of Karshi is expected to expand by 11 thousand hectares, and by 2042 - by 16 thousand hectares. The city's population is expected to grow from 300 thousand to 470 thousand people in these years.
According to the development plan of Karshi, the housing stock is expected to expand initially to 7 million 200 thousand square meters, and in the accounting period to 10 million 810 thousand square meters. This will help to increase the level of housing provision for the city's population. In 2030, an average of 18 square meters of housing space will be provided for each person, and in 2042 - 23 square meters. It is noteworthy that the share of 2-3 and 4-5-story houses in the city's housing stock will decrease, and the share of 7, 12, 14 and 16-story houses will increase. This, in turn, will entail a change in the urban landscape.
Great attention is also being paid to the city's social infrastructure. The number of preschool educational institutions and secondary schools will be increased, and by 2030 their total capacity will be increased to 22 thousand and 64 thousand places, respectively. Medical services will also be developed, and the number of hospitals and polyclinics, as well as shops, clubs, palaces of culture, theaters and cinemas is expected to increase.
The transport infrastructure will also develop significantly. The length of main streets in Karshi will be increased to 155.35 kilometers in 2030, and to 291.33 kilometers in 2042. The number of passengers transported on these streets is also expected to increase, and in 18 years 235 million passengers will be transported.
At the same time, special attention will be paid to improving the ecological environment. The new development of Karshi aims to increase the area of green areas, expand the area of sanitary protection zones, and reduce negative impacts on the environment. By 2030, the area of green areas in general use that meet environmental requirements will be expanded to 423 hectares, and the area of sanitary zones to 586.7 hectares.
These decisions on the future of Karshi will accelerate the socio-economic development of the city and are aimed at improving the living conditions of the population. These efforts will make a significant contribution to the development of the city not only locally, but also regionally.
