Samarkand airport switched to autumn-winter schedule
Starting from October 27, the Samarkand International Airport, operated by Air Marakanda, has switched to the 2025–2026 autumn-winter flight schedule. During the 2025 spring-summer season, the airport served over 900,000 passengers.
This figure is 6.8 percent higher compared to the same period last year. The route network expanded significantly during the last season.
Ural Airlines launched new flights from Samarkand to Krasnoyarsk, and Azimuth Airlines launched new flights from Samara and Krasnodar. Additionally, AZAL Airlines resumed direct flights to Baku, Qazaq Air resumed direct flights to Astana (via Turkistan), and China Southern Airlines to Urumqi.
The Samarkand-based Centrum Air also contributed to the development of routes. It operated flights on eight routes, including Dushanbe, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Urgench.
For passenger convenience, new services have been introduced in the waiting lounge. Now there is a barbershop, the 24-hour Gate 24/7 cafe, and the Yess Coffee coffee shop.
In the new season, partner airlines will increase the number of flights on popular routes. Azimuth Airlines will fly to Ufa three times a week, and Sunexpress will fly to Izmir three times a week.
Meanwhile, Ural Airlines will operate daily flights to Moscow (Domodedovo) and three weekly flights to Yekaterinburg. In addition, Qazaq Air plans to launch direct flights to Astana and Utair plans to resume flights to Saint Petersburg.
Before launching the autumn-winter schedule, all technical services at the airport were inspected. Special equipment adapted to low temperatures was prepared: snow removal machines and runway de-icing equipment have been made ready for service.
Emergency rescue services, power supply, and lighting systems were also tested. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
