President Mirziyoyev congratulated medical workers
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, congratulated the country's medical workers on their professional holiday – Medical Workers' Day. This holiday is widely celebrated every year on the second Sunday of November.

In his congratulatory speech, the head of state expressed his high appreciation for the services of medical professionals in preserving public health and highlighted the achievements in the healthcare system in recent years. The President stated: “With genuine sincerity and from the heart, I congratulate you – the guardians of our nation's health – on your professional holiday.

I express my deep respect and best wishes to you.” The President emphasized that over the past years, funding for the healthcare system has increased sixfold, and high-quality medical services have become more accessible to the population, including at the neighborhood level. Today, more than 400 high-tech medical services that were previously available only in the capital are now provided in regional centers.

According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as a result of the reforms undertaken, the maternal mortality rate has decreased from 21 per mille to 11 per mille, and infant mortality has dropped from 11.5 per mille to 7.8 per mille. The President also touched on the achievements in the digitalization of the healthcare sector: “The DMED unified electronic information platform has been launched, containing the medical records of over 36 million citizens.

The number of medical examinations conducted with the help of artificial intelligence has reached 43 types.” Additionally, the head of state noted that robotic technologies are being introduced in the country, an electronic system for managing emergency medical calls is being implemented, and efforts to establish a medical insurance system are ongoing. The President also focused on the development of the private sector.

Over the past eight years, the number of private clinics has increased from 3,500 to 9,000, and the range of services they provide has expanded to 130 types. The President also highlighted successes in the pharmaceutical sector: “Since 2017, the volume of national production has grown from 1.4 trillion soums to 6.3 trillion soums, and exports have risen from 6.3 million dollars to 250 million dollars.” According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to raise the level of medical staff training, the Tashkent State Medical University was established, the activities of higher educational institutions in Urgench and Samarkand were strengthened, and eight medical universities have undergone international accreditation.

The President also emphasized that the average life expectancy in Uzbekistan has increased from 73.8 years to 75.1 years, noting that the contribution of medical workers to these achievements is significant. “Once again, I congratulate you on your professional holiday; I wish you health, success in your honorable work, happiness to your families, peace, and prosperity,” said the head of state.
