
A court has issued a final verdict in a high-profile criminal case involving the rape of a 16-year-old girl in the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan.
According to the court decision, the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment. He is also obligated to pay the family of the deceased moral compensation in the amount of 50 million tenge (1 billion 165 million soums).
During the investigation, the suspect did not fully admit his guilt, but the court assessed the presented evidence as sufficient and reliable. The court chairman, Dauren Madaliyev, stated that the accused was also deprived of the right to work in pedagogical positions and work with minors.
The crime occurred on the night of June 6th. The girl, who was returning home from the store, disappeared without a trace, and in the morning her body was found near the kindergarten.
A 38-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was found guilty of "murder," "rape," and "sexual assault" and will serve his sentence in a maximum security facility.
