Russia's Wildberries online marketplace platform has launched the WB Taxi service in Tashkent. A dedicated app for Android and iOS smartphones allows users to book vehicles.
New users can register through other customers' personal referral links or submit an application via the app. According to Spot, users are offered four types of tariff options: 'Standard,' 'Comfort,' 'Comfort Plus,' and 'Multi.'
Travel payments made through bank cards will include a 50% cashback offer. Earlier, it was reported that during the initial phase, the service would operate in a 'closed club' format. This approach is aimed at ensuring convenience for passengers and the smooth functioning of the service.
'The closed club format allows us to focus as much as possible on the development of the service. We will launch the service gradually and carefully monitor all system elements. Feedback from club participants will help us improve the service further and prepare for expansion,' said Anatoliy Smorgonskiy, head of WB Taxi.
Earlier, the company denied reports suggesting plans to launch a taxi service in Russia. They stated that the service would first be tested in Uzbekistan and Belarus.
