Xavi blamed Laporta: he said his son-in-law would manage "Barcelona"...

Former Barcelona player and head coach Xavi made a very harsh statement about the internal atmosphere at the club. He stated that while the Catalan club officially belongs to President Joan Laporta, in practice, decisions are made by another influential figure.
Xavi stated that he came to Barca specifically because of Laporta, but then, in the end, the president himself left a feeling that he had "betrayed" him. According to the specialist, the process of removing him from the position of head coach was not conducted openly and directly: the decision was made without telling the truth, without a full explanation of the reasons.
Xavi says that the decision was heavily influenced by Alejandro Echevarría, who is mentioned as Laporta's former son-in-law and advisor. In his opinion, it is this person who has an influence even higher than the president and practically "directs" important decisions of the club.
"I came to Barca because of Laporta, but in the end, it was he who betrayed me. Why? He dismissed me from the position of head coach without telling the truth. This decision was made under the influence of Alejandro Echevarría, a man considered even superior to the president. In other words, it was Alexandro who fired me," Xavi's words were quoted.
The most critical point is that Xavi stated that this is the structure of "Barca," and in reality, the club is managed by Alejandro Echevarría. Interestingly, he added that he had previously had a close and friendly relationship with that person. But it was against the backdrop of this friendship that Xavi was deeply offended.
At the same time, Xavi had previously stated that the environment surrounding Laporta fostered negative attitudes towards him through the media, and there were attempts to portray him negatively in front of some players.
In short, Xavi's interview once again showed how complex the internal politics surrounding Barcelona are. Now the main question is how the club will respond to these statements and what position Laporta will take in public.
