Mirziyoyev met with US congressmen


During his visit to Washington, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held negotiations with US congressmen Bill Huizenga, Carol Miller, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove. This was reported by the presidential press service.

During the meeting, topics such as further strengthening cooperation between Tashkent and Washington and developing inter-parliamentary relations were discussed. The development of active ties between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and the US was noted.

The parties emphasized the successful activities of the Uzbekistan Caucus in the US Congress. In addition, Mirziyoyev and congressional representatives paid special attention to cooperation with the states of West Virginia, Michigan, and California.

"At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to organize a visit of US Congress representatives to Uzbekistan, as well as exchanges of business delegations led by regional leaders," the Presidential press service statement said. In addition, the head of state met with Senator Steve Daines from Montana.

They discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries. In the future, a business mission from the USA to Uzbekistan is planned to be sent.

As a reminder, on Thursday, November 6, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the "C5+1" summit to be held in the capital of the USA. During the meeting, investment and economic issues will be considered.
