A new system will be introduced in Uzbekistan to ensure the continuous professional development of medical workers. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this during a meeting with doctors across the country.
To achieve this goal, plans are underway to establish a Center for Continuous Professional Medical Education in the country. Starting in 2026, opportunities for distance learning, practical training on simulators, and independent study will be launched.
"A modern doctor must be familiar with advanced technologies, treatment, and diagnostic methods, and consistently improve their skills," said the head of state. Over the last eight years, the number of private clinics has tripled, exceeding 9,000, while the number of hospital beds has reached 57,000.
The President noted that currently, 30 percent of medical services are provided by the private sector, and there are plans to expand this collaboration. He also highlighted that the service costs in private clinics are lower than those in state-run centers and instructed a review of the fairness of pricing in public institutions.
