The draft of Tashkent city’s new design code has been published for public discussion. After being reviewed at a meeting of the Council of People’s Deputies, the document was posted openly so the wider public can ознакомиться and submit suggestions and feedback. The draft sets out a set of standards aimed at regulating the city’s external appearance. It establishes unified requirements for facade architecture, the types of materials used, as well as the size and design of outdoor advertising.
At the same time, the document also covers area improvement issues: standards for lighting and landscaping, as well as approaches to preserving historical monuments, are outlined. Officials hope the unified rules will create a harmonious aesthetic environment in the city and increase the capital’s tourist appeal.
Proposals will be accepted until the end of the official discussion period. After that, the draft is expected to be revised taking into account the opinions of residents and experts.
