At Lake Tudakul in Navoi Region, authorities found that poachers caused environmental damage exceeding 680 million soums. During large-scale raids, officers from the Eco Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Guard seized nearly half a ton of illegally caught fish from offenders. In the largest case, 417 fish belonging to five species were found in the offenders’ possession. The damage to wildlife in this episode was estimated at 562 million soums.
In another case, three men managed to catch 39 fish using prohibited monofilament nets. They will have to pay compensation of 120 million soums.
As material evidence in the case, a total of 416 kg of fish and 300 meters of net were documented. Investigative actions are currently underway, and intensified inspections of the region’s water bodies are continuing.
